The Green Princess

A work in progress taken from the previously posted sketch. I put this together with photoshop rather than illustrator to see how the image would 'feel'. I've also started putting it together with my 'traditional' illustrator approach as part of the exercise.

Return of the wolf man!

Just out of interest... here's the original sketch of the guitar totting wolf man. Ignore the Michael Jackson zombie if you will.... he's bad! (fnar fnar).

Dead music....

Here's a sketch of a famous dead composer (as opposed to a dead famous composer).

BOO!

Here's another of the sketches done in the same way as the wolf man.

The howl of the wolf man!

Wow... talk about time flying by! I have been busy sketching for the '30 days' project (like a good boy). But hard drive storage problems are causing me no end of hassle at the moment. Here's one of the sketches worked up. I tried something a little different for this one, in that I coloured it up in photoshop and kept the original sketch, rather than redrawing it in illustrator like normal... really pleased with the result, it's still recognisable as my work, but a little fresher!

Queen of the Deep

Another finished image from the current '30 Days' exercise I'm part of. Very pleased with this too!

Err... still breathing! Chuthulu AND Easter... all in one post!!

Hmm... This artwork funk is soooo bad still! I've been party to a little project over on facebook with a group of artists called '30 Days'... basically a sketch-a-day for April. It's been good, as it's given me a reason to draw. I've been happy with the sketches so far, i need to scan them in and post them... this blog has been inactive for too long. Here are two images from the series that i've worked up... you may notice a theme... and you are right!

White Blacula 7" Series

Here's a bit of a work in progress for White Blacula's new song 'Pyramid Twist'. It's not how I'd envisaged it originally (hence why it's a work in progress). I do kinda like it as it reminds me a little of Jim Flora's work (that's not meant as an insult to Jim...)

Mail Me Art.... It's alive!!

My entry for the mailmeart project has arrived safe and well, and can be viewed amongst all my peers here... SWEET!

The Pyramid Twist

Here's a dancing egyptian performing the Pyramid Twist.. a song by White Blackula (a band featuring members of the legendary Zombina and the Skeletones and El Toro). Check out the link to see the band in action and hear what my illustration is dancing to!

Mail Me Art: Short and Sweet

Here's a scan of my Mail Me Art: Short And Sweet entry. It's called 'CAKE' and its made from cut foam... so it's a real piece of art instead of a digital one!

Hurrah!

WAR OF WORDS (A slight return)

There's another scan I've only just done.. The WOW word was 'Shiver'... so here's a Mistfits-style horror band called 'The Shivers' and an LP cover design to represent it!

MISFITS

The Jerry Only-led Misfits are heading back to the UK... this time in support of their cracking new live album... here's some sketches for a possible poster to celebrate!

Have beard... will ROCK!!

There's some fantastic bands in and around Sweden these days... and they ALL have beards!! Who knew?

WAR OF WORDS (Catch Up-ish)

WOW died again a while back... Here's a couple of sketches I did for the words CHARM and PROSPECT that I've only just scanned in. I wanted to do them like tattoos, instead of the usual 'floating' illustrations.... pretty pleased with them both!

Angel Of Mercy

Did this sketch whilst watching American Horror : Asylum a while back. I really enjoyed how the angel of death was portrayed in the show... and this sketch is derived from that.

DANZIG

The legendary DANZIG is performing a few rare shows in the UK in June. Here's a poster design for the show I'd like to go see in Manchester. He's also performing a set of MISFITS classics with former band-mate DOYLE.

I based the design for this on one of my favourite Danzig tracks- 'Under Her Black Wings' and added in a stock photo for the mouth (which made it look a bit more creepy!)
